Official Kickstarter Partner Programme

I'm an official Kickstarter Expert Partner. Here's what that actually means.

Kickstarter chose me. Not the other way round. I'm on the official, hand-picked list of consultants the platform sends creators to when they're looking for real help.

What is a Kickstarter Expert Partner?

Most Kickstarter consultants you'll find online are not vetted by anyone. They've built a website, picked a number, and started selling.

The Kickstarter Expert Partner programme is the opposite. It's a small, hand-picked list of consultants and creators that Kickstarter itself reviews and approves. To be on it, Kickstarter's own team looks at your campaign history, your consulting work, your success rate, your Projects We Love hit rate, and — basically — whether you actually know what you're doing.

Then they decide. There's no application form to fill in. You don't pay to be on the list. Kickstarter either invites you, or they don't.

The people on the partner list are the ones the platform itself is willing to vouch for. That's me, among a small number of others worldwide.

Why this matters when you're picking a consultant

The problem

Anyone can call themselves a "Kickstarter consultant"

There's no governing body. Half the people advertising Kickstarter help launched one campaign in 2018 and built a course about it. You can't tell who's real from a website. The badges most consultants display are self-awarded.

What the partner badge tells you

An independent third party reviewed the work

Kickstarter has no commercial reason to put bad consultants on its directory. If you damage their creators, you damage their platform. The fact that they vouch for the partners on the list is one of the few real, verifiable filters available.

How I became an Expert Partner

Kickstarter invited me onto their Expert Partner programme. Selected from many applicants on the strength of my track record.

What separates me from the agencies: I've actually run my own campaigns. Lived the launch-day stress, built the pre-launch list myself, dealt with the fulfilment afterwards. Most agencies are run by people who've never put their own product on Kickstarter.

I advise from doing, not from a playbook.

A Kickstarter Expert Partner in the UK

Most Expert Partners are US-based — Kickstarter's HQ is in New York and the platform is American by origin, so the partner list reflects that.

For UK and European founders, working with a US-based partner usually means a five-hour time-zone gap, calls at awkward hours, and advice that doesn't always reflect the practical realities of launching from this side of the Atlantic. VAT on rewards, GBP payouts, UK shipping logistics, Companies House structures for new product brands — these aren't things most American consultants think about.

I'm a British founder running my own UK-launched campaigns. I've also had companies in both the UK and the EU, so the practical differences on each side — UK VAT, EU OSS/IOSS, post-Brexit customs, shipping into either market — aren't theoretical to me. And I'm flexible on time zones — happy to take calls in your hours, not mine.

On price — I've written a separate honest breakdown of what a Kickstarter consultant actually costs in 2026, tier by tier, with the agency comparison.

FAQ

Questions about the partner programme.

What is a Kickstarter Expert Partner?+

Kickstarter runs a small, hand-picked programme of vetted creators and consultants who advise founders on how to launch successfully. Partners are reviewed by Kickstarter's own team — track record, campaigns delivered, quality of advice — and only then added to the official list. It is not a sticker you can buy or apply for casually. Kickstarter decides who is on it.

How do you become a Kickstarter Expert Partner?+

Kickstarter invites partners directly. The criteria they weigh include: campaigns you have personally run (success rate, total raised, Projects We Love hit rate), consulting work you have done for other founders, and the quality of your advice in public channels. There is no application form on the site. Either you have built the body of work, or you have not.

Why does the Expert Partner badge matter to me as a founder?+

Because most Kickstarter consultants you will find online are not vetted by anyone. The Expert Partner badge is one of the few signals that an independent party — the platform itself — has actually reviewed the consultant's track record. It does not guarantee a result, but it filters out the people who launched one campaign in 2018 and built a course about it.

Are there many Kickstarter Expert Partners in the UK?+

No. The UK list is short. Most listed partners are based in the US, where Kickstarter HQ is. Being a UK-based partner means working with founders here without time-zone friction and with familiarity around UK-specific issues — VAT on rewards, GBP payouts, UK shipping logistics, Companies House structures for new product brands.

How does this affect what I pay for help?+

It does not, in my case. Some Expert Partners use the badge to justify five-figure agency retainers. I do the opposite — I work directly with founders at transparent, line-item prices (£60 strategy call up to £5,000 done-for-you launch), and the Expert Partner credential is part of why I can charge a fraction of what agencies charge: I do not have a team to support.

Can I see your Kickstarter profile?+

Yes — my campaigns are public on Kickstarter and you can see every one I have personally run, the goal, the raise, the backer count and the Projects We Love status. The same applies to most of the campaigns I have consulted on (the creators own the profile, but you can see the results).

Want to launch with the real thing?

Two ways in. Start small with a £60 strategy call to scope the work — or go straight to Done-for-You and I'll build the whole thing.

Reply to any email and it comes straight to me. No team, no funnel.
