For sixth forms, FE colleges & secondary schools
A masterclass for 14-18 year olds. How founders start, how they prototype cheap, and how they get their first customers. Delivered by an official Kickstarter Expert Partner who's actually done it, not a careers video.
Perfect for Enterprise Weeks, off-timetable days, sixth-form careers events, BTEC business modules.
Real, not theory
Every example comes from a campaign that actually ran. Real numbers, real mistakes, real moments where things worked or didn't. Students recognise the difference between someone who's done it and someone who's read about it.
Kickstarter-vetted
One of a small, hand-picked list Kickstarter itself vouches for. Not a self-awarded badge. Great signal for a careers programme or an enterprise week guest.
Interactive
Not a passive lecture. Students see a real Kickstarter page torn apart in real time and then run a quick pitch exercise of their own. They leave the room having actually done something.
Career-relevant
Careers programmes often skip "start your own thing" as an option. Students who see a working founder up close realise it's not mythical. Some of them go on to actually try.
The teen-friendly version of Adam's founder curriculum. Front-loaded on inspiration and the "how do people actually start" question. Skips the deep tactical bits reserved for the university-level masterclass.
Block 1
Where do good product ideas actually come from? Almost never a lightning bolt. Almost always a problem the founder personally lived with. Real examples of ideas born from frustration and how students can spot their own.
Block 2
You don't need a factory to test an idea. Paper prototypes, 3D printing, laser cutting, and 100-unit small batches. What "minimum viable product" actually means when you're 16 with no money.
Block 3
A real, live Kickstarter campaign pulled apart in front of the room. What's working, what isn't, why backers pledge. Way more useful than a slide about "marketing fundamentals".
Block 4
Students pair up and pitch a product idea in the room. Adam gives honest feedback on the strongest few. Then open Q&A on anything they want to ask a working founder.
Fees quoted in GBP. Travel and accommodation reimbursed at cost for on-site sessions. State schools with tight budgets — consider booking me via Speakers for Schools or Careers & Enterprise Company for occasional reduced-fee slots.

Sixth-form colleges, FE colleges, independent schools, University Technical Colleges (UTCs), and studio schools running enterprise, business studies, product design, BTEC or A-level programmes. Aimed at 14-18 year old students who are curious about starting things, making things, and how founders actually launch products.
The inspirational part — how founders start companies from nothing — plus the practical basics of validating an idea and building a cheap prototype. Adam shares real examples from his own campaigns and clients, walks through a live Kickstarter page teardown, and runs a quick pitch exercise in the room. No jargon, no textbook stuff, no PowerPoint-heavy corporate speak.
Universities get all four modules (ideate, prototype, launch, raise money) in depth. Schools get the front two modules (ideate + prototype) plus a live Kickstarter teardown, framed as inspiration and career awareness rather than tactical launch training. Students without a company yet don't need the ad-strategy or reward-tier deep dive — they need the story of how it actually happens.
Email Adam with the date, format, cohort size, and year group. He'll come back with a written quote within two working days. Schools typically pay via purchase order or BACS on invoice. Fees are exclusive of travel and accommodation for on-site sessions.
Yes. State schools with tight budgets, do consider signing me up through Speakers for Schools (Sir Robert Peston's charity) or the Careers & Enterprise Company — those platforms match speakers to state schools and I'm happy to do occasional pro-bono or reduced-fee sessions through them. For paid direct bookings, the fees on this page apply to all schools regardless of type.
Perfect fit. Enterprise Weeks (usually one a year, often in November) are exactly when schools want an outside practitioner. I can do a keynote + workshop combo on the same day for those slots. Book early — enterprise-week speaker slots go fast, usually filled 3-4 months ahead.
Email Adam directly. He replies personally, usually within a day.
