For UK Kickstarter founders
Most Kickstarter consultants are American. I'm a British founder, an official Kickstarter Expert Partner, and I've helped raise £3M+ across 30+ campaigns — every one of them funded. If you're launching from the UK or EU, that matters more than most Americans realise.
£49 ebook to £5,000 Done-for-You. Flat fees. Never a percentage of your raise.

The UK angle
This isn't a moral argument. It's a practical one. If you launch from the UK, your Kickstarter has to deal with rules and logistics American consultants have no reason to know. Getting them wrong costs money after the campaign closes — and there's no way to fix it retroactively.
1 · VAT on rewards
The UK VAT threshold is £90,000 (as of the 2024 budget, worth confirming with your accountant). If you raise over that, you're VAT-registered whether you planned to be or not. That decision needs making before launch, not after.
2 · IOSS for EU shipping
Post-Brexit, EU backers pay import VAT and handling on parcels from the UK. A £35 reward becomes £42 by the time it arrives, and they're cross. The IOSS scheme fixes this. Most US consultants have never heard of it.
3 · GBP payouts
Kickstarter pays out through Stripe. Setting up UK Stripe correctly, handling international backer currencies, and minimising FX bleed is a small technical exercise. Get it wrong and you lose 2-3% of your raise to conversion fees.
4 · Companies House
If you're launching a real product brand and raising serious money, the entity structure matters. Sole trader is simpler; a Ltd company usually makes more sense above certain raise thresholds. American consultants don't advise on this. UK ones should.
5 · Post-Brexit customs
Shipping into the EU, US, Australia and beyond, each with a different customs regime. Your fulfilment partner has to handle it. If they're wrong on codes or paperwork, parcels bounce or backers get charged twice.
6 · Time zones
A US-based consultant means calls at 8pm your time. It's fine when it's fine. It's not fine on launch day when something breaks at 10am and your consultant is asleep for another five hours. UK consultants overlap with UK founders. Simple.
About me
I've personally launched and helped launch 30+ Kickstarter campaigns, raising more than £3M in total. Every single one funded. Every single one earned Kickstarter's Projects We Love editorial badge. That's not luck — it's a checklist I've refined over dozens of launches.
I'm an official Kickstarter Expert Partner. Kickstarter itself chose me, on the strength of the track record above. The UK Expert Partner list is small. Most partners are US-based. Being a British one, for British founders, actually matters.
I don't run an agency. I run a consultancy. There's no team filtering emails. You reply to me directly, we talk, we work together, we launch. If that's what you want — carry on. If you want a big agency with account managers and monthly retainers, there are three or four in London. I'm not one of them.

Prices, published
The Kickstarter consulting market hides its prices for a reason. Percentage-of-raise deals earn agencies far more than the work justifies. I publish every price. You can compare before you commit.
Plus a £49 ebook, a £300 self-teach video course, and 9 add-ons from £100 to £200 (landing pages, reward tiers, hero images, video scripts, launch-day emails). Full list on the homepage.
FAQ
The core job is the same as any Kickstarter consultant — help you plan the campaign, build the pre-launch list, craft the page and video, price your reward tiers, and get through launch day and fulfilment without disasters. A UK consultant also handles the UK-specific parts — VAT on rewards, IOSS for EU shipping, GBP payouts, Companies House structures, post-Brexit customs. American consultants aren't wrong to skip these. They're just not their market.
It depends on the tier of help you need. A one-off strategy call is £60. An end-to-end coaching programme is £750. A fully done-for-you launch build is £5,000. Add-ons like a landing page, hero image, reward tier setup or campaign video script run £100–£200 each. Everything's published on the homepage. UK agencies typically charge £8,000–£15,000 for equivalent work, and often add a percentage-of-raise on top.
Yes. Kickstarter chose me for the Expert Partner programme — it's a small, hand-picked list of consultants the platform itself vets and refers creators to. It's not something you can apply for casually. Most UK Kickstarter consultants aren't on the list. If you want the full detail, there's a dedicated page: kickstarter-expert-partner on this site.
Most of my clients are UK or EU-based, because that's where the UK angle is worth the money. I also work with US, Australian, Canadian and rest-of-world founders who value the transparent pricing and the anti-agency approach. If your product is Kickstarter-suitable, geography isn't a barrier — the calls just happen in different time zones.
Most of them. Product design, tech, board games, publishing, music gear, homeware, sustainable goods. I skip food and supplements because the regulatory environment is a specialism I don't claim to be an expert in. If your product needs FSA or MHRA approval, I'll point you to someone who lives in that world.
Yes — that's what the add-ons are for. If you can do most of the campaign yourself but you're stuck on the video script, the landing page, or the reward tier structure, buy that add-on alone. Everything's priced separately on the homepage. You don't need the full done-for-you to get value.
Practical, not moral. UK consultants understand VAT thresholds, IOSS registration for EU parcels, GBP payouts via Stripe, Companies House filings, and post-Brexit customs. American consultants generally don't — those aren't their tax or logistics environment. Time zones are the other real difference — a UK consultant can be on your Zoom without either of you being up at 3am.
I don't file your VAT return — that's your accountant's job. What I do is make sure your Kickstarter pricing, reward tiers, and shipping quotes account for VAT properly before you launch, and that your fulfilment partner is set up correctly for IOSS and post-Brexit customs. Getting this wrong costs founders thousands and there's no way to fix it after the campaign closes.
No. Every price is a flat fee, paid once. Percentage-of-raise deals are the industry's dirty secret and they punish founders exactly when they succeed. Kickstarter itself takes 5%, Stripe takes ~3%. Adding another 10–15% for a consultant on top is a tax on traffic Kickstarter sent you. Flat fee. Full stop.
As early as you can, and ideally at least 8–12 weeks before launch. Pre-launch is where the work happens — landing page, email list, page copy, video, reward tier design. Founders who show up two weeks before launch asking for help are usually asking for damage limitation, not a launch plan. That said, if you're two weeks out and stuck, a £60 strategy call is the fastest way to figure out what's fixable.
Yes — if you're on the coaching programme or the done-for-you tier. Fulfilment is where a lot of UK campaigns go off the rails — customs, IOSS, backer address changes, shipping partner selection. The done-for-you build includes fulfilment planning. Add-ons for one-off fulfilment advice can be arranged if you need it later.
No. Nobody can. Anyone who does is lying to you. What I can offer is a track record — every campaign I've personally launched has funded, and every one has earned Kickstarter's Projects We Love editorial badge. That's 30+ campaigns and £3M+ raised. Track record isn't a guarantee, but it's the closest thing that exists.
Start with a £60 strategy call to sanity-check your plan — or go straight to the £5,000 Done-for-You and I'll build the whole campaign. Either way, the reply-to is me. Not a team.
Reply to any email and it comes straight to me. No team, no funnel.
